In Victorian-era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot which includes the Queen, a religious cult and an Angel merging bodies. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge. Ciel Phantomhive is now the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as the underground work for the Queen of England. His new partner is a demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose powers as a butler is only surpassed by his strength as a demon.
The story follows the two along with their other servants, as they work to unravel the plot behind Ciel's parents' murder, and the horrendous tragedies that befell Ciel in the month directly after.
In the midst of this happening, other characters are affected by Ciels presence, disturbing Shinigami, Angels, Demons and numerous others. There are many friends and enemies to be made.
A Demon:
A demon has 2 forms, it's demon form (In hell) which they never really use in the human world, and then the human form, which it takes, but still has some hints into its demon nature (E.g the occasional flash of pinkish red in the eyes. The demon form often takes after something, in Sebastian's case- A raven. And in Claudes's- A spider, and the traits of these beings show through in their abilities.
Demons can not be killed (Easily, at least) by a mere human, because of their speed, ability and re-generation speed.
Demons eat souls of humans, and occasionally make a contract in which, the human gets 3 wishes, in exchange for giving the demon their soul when the wishes are complete. The demon MUST obey the rules of the contract at all times, and in doing so gains a mark on their hand a the ability to place a seal of contract (The more visible the seal- the stronger it is. Example- Ciels eye.) Because they eat souls, Demons are not in the good books of the Shinigami.
A Shinigami:
"Grim Reaper" Shinigami have a book of which has a router on what souls they should collect, where and when. In doing so, they view the cinematic record of the persons soul and save it in the library. If the schedule is not met, they lose souls and have to do over time (Much more work) to collect them.
A Shinigami has yellowish green eyes, and glasses, they are almost blind without their glasses, so are a key thing to their character. A Shinigami also has a "Death Scythe" of which can cut through anything BUT another death scythe. Scythe's can take the form of almost anything, some examples are A chainsaw and a lawnmower. If a human/living soul is cut with a death scythe, the Shinigami can view their cinematic record.
If a Shinigami wishes to retire, they must give their scythe back (Or so they should) and scythe's can be demoted if behavior is poor.
An Angel:
A rare occurrance. Angels have 2 forms, one a male and one a female. They have wings which grant them the ability of flight, and purple eyes. Although they are MEANT to be holy, they have the wrong idea somewhat, and try to "purge" (clean) darkness by altering people cinematic records, which again, is not good news for the Shinigami. By doing this the angel can influence the person and their memories. They have no fixed weapon, but have unusual abilities, such as demons. For example, feathers which are sharp to the touch and act like razors.
Some Victorian stuff you should know:
Punishments for breaking the law were svere. Stealing a spoon could get you locked in the tower for life, even if you were a poor homeless child.
Butler's and maids were common in welthy familes, but had to obey the house rules at all costs.
There was a big gap between the poor and the rich. The rich having mansions and grand displays, while some of the poor literally lived in sewage with one set of clothes.
Manners were sublime.
Trains, cars and a basic telephone were invented.
Males were somewhat superior to females. For example, for a female to be a doctor it was very rare.
Medical treatment was not great.
The monarchy was the most powerful word.
Britain was big in industry with many factories and coal limes, often polluting London with a black smog, but finely made goods.
How the forum works:
The characters that are dead in the anime do not have to be on this forum. You can choose if you want to kill your character off. Follow the story line roughly, but not exact. keep to your roles but don't be afraid to venture out (Example: Characters that have not met in the anime CAN meet here) You don't follow the episodes. Do what you want at your own pace. The forum is set roughly at the near end of Season 2 in the anime, and the end of the manga. If you have any questions about your character, let me know.
